Story
**Updated April 2021**
So 12 months on from starting this fund raising page, the world has been in lockdown and I have only managed to complete 1 virtual half marathon. As we hopefully return to some form of normality I have finally managed to re-book 11 events for 2021, all details below. I will complete these to raise awareness and make sure everyone who kindly donated last year gets to see me suffer.
A quick update on Rosh, she has been amazing over the past 12 months, in May/June she completed a course of radiotherapy and in January of this year she had she 12 month check up and everything was positive. She is now an ambassador for Prevent and along with her regular feel on the 4th posts will be continuing to raise awareness particularly amongst young women.
March 2020
As some of you may already know myself and my gorgeous wife Roisin have had a pretty tough start to the year. For those of you that don't know, Rosh found a lump in her breast on boxing Day, she had a biopsy on 8th January and on 15th January we got the awful news that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. On 30th January she had an operation to remove the lump and some lymph-nodes and the results of this have successful and we're just waiting for confirmation on the exact treatment moving forward but we're counting ourselves lucky that everything is looking positive.
The news that a 32 year old fit and healthy young woman has breast cancer has been difficult to get our heads round. However, the amazing treatment and support that Rosh has had from the NHS and the love and support from friends, family and her understanding clients has been unbelievably overwhelming and has helped us on this journey so far.
Now a lot of you will know I enjoy posting the odd picture about the runs I do, so when I started thinking about trying to raise money and awareness I naturally thought the best thing to do would be a sponsored run. After a bit more though I decided I needed to do something more challenging than just one run so I'll be attempting to run 8 half marathons, one every month from March until October when I can run the Manchester half marathon with my strong, beautiful, brave, cancer free wife!
Rosh has been treated at the Nightingale Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital and based there is an amazing charity called Prevent Breast Cancer who do great work to predict and prevent breast cancer. You can read more about their work on the link below. I'll be completing the runs below to raise money for this amazing cause and would appreciated any small contributions.
