Story
This is close to our hearts as Sam was treated so well by all at Frimley Park Hospital‘s breast care team and what better way to celebrate Sam’s life than by giving a little back to those that helped her on her journey over the last 6 years.
On behalf of the breast team we would like to announce a new charity 'BRAs'.The helix on the 's' is the DNA, is the true face and future of treatment for breast cancer which affects 1 in 8 women. We look forward to the day we can genetically influence the cancer cell by simply turning off its 'drivers'. Earlier this year, the team at Frimley Park Hospital wanted to join a very interesting study using minimal invasive surgery in patient who have chemotherapy first, but we could not due to need for more staff. Why raise money?Do we just watch and wait? Or aspire and move forward? So we are raising funds to finance a research person to enable us to do just that.Improving: Our audit of ten years FU, show our survival rate in 93%, 10% higher than the national average. We treat 400 new cancers a year. In Frimley breast unit we have contributed to many national and international breast studies. We work together, we are a very cohesive interactive and dynamic team.
