With Christmas fast approaching the thought of owning a big, bushy Santa beard is very appealing. However my previous attempts to grow a beard has been met with domestic disapproval!

Therefore, following the sad loss of Fred Shaylor,a dear family friend, this year to bowel cancer I jumped at the chance to take part in Decembeard to raise money for Beating Bowel Cancer (www.beatingbowelcancer.org).

I am going to start December clean shaven just to see how much facial insulation I can cultivate over the course of 31 days.

Regular photos of the development of my second favourite furry friend (runner up only to the dog!) will be posted on both my Just Giving and Facebook sites so at any point you find it funny enough to donate then please do as it is a very worth cause.
