Hi Everybody,
This year, on the 11th March, through sheer willpower and blind stupidity, I will be running the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon on behalf of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. PHA UK are a fantastic charity and knowing their work first hand it was a no-brainer to support them.
Those of you who know me, and those who know me very well, will know that running is not something I am good at. To be honest I'm dreadful at it. However, I'm putting that to one side to support PHA UK.
To give you all some back ground Pulmonary Hypertension is high pressure inside the pulmonary arteries of the heart making it less efficient at pumping blood around the body and getting oxygen to the muscles.
- This leads to symptoms such as shortness of breathe, fatigue or tiredness and feeling faint or dizzy.
- If not treated, pulmonary hypertension can cause heart failure, which is when the heart struggles to pump enough blood around the body. This can be fatal.
This is a serious and rae condition and unfortunately one that my best friend Matts dad suffers from. The support PHA UK have given to Matt and his family makes me proud to support them.
I know it's a difficult time for everyone at the moment but please sponsor me whatever you can as every bit will make a difference!
