Chris's Help me over the line in London page

London Marathon 2017 · 23 April 2017 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Let's start at the start. I'm a mechanic, not an athlete. I started running just over a year ago as a way of socialising, to meet new people and to of course keep fit. I have met some lovely people along the way that share my drive and ambition.
When I got refused from the public ballot it was kind of last chance saloon when I entered my club ballot for a final roll of the dice with Keith and District AAC. I got in.........
When I got the call with the news I was in I was on holiday with my daughter Skye in Edinburgh. I was so excited, with made Skye excited. Next day the reality of the task started to hit home. I have never ran a marathon before and we were going straight in with one of the big ones. Training has been stepped up as I gain to get fit for the miles that lie ahead in April.
The reasons as to why I have chosen the MS Society as my charity are this. For the last 12 or so years I have worked at West High Street Garage Inverurie. My bosses wife Aileen has suffered with this terrible disease during this time. First hand I have witnessed the stress and tension that this illness can cause within a family. Even closer to home since I have secured my marathon spot for 2017 my daughters mother has also been diagnosis with MS
Please give what you can afford, it all makes a difference and will drive me on to the finish line
Thank you
