UPDATE AFTER 5TH SEPTEMBER
Please see new photos!!
So I did it!! Once again it was very tough in a cold South Easterly gale.
Had a few bad moments, including an unscheduled lie down just south of Middlewich (its called 'hitting the wall' apparently)
So much so that the bike went on ebay straight after and was sold straight away. No more 100 miles for me my friends!
Thank you all for your wonderful support this time and over the years.
Chris
Dear Friends and Supporters
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Over the past 4 years or so you have all helped me raise over £5000 for my chosen charity, The Christie.
You will know why I became involved and why I think this is a most worthy cause. The money raised in this way goes to help this incredible organisation with their research into new treatments, and as such will benefit a much wider public.
After completing my 100 miles in September 2008 I really did say 'no more', not just because it hurt a lot, but also because I felt I could not keep asking you for money.
Since then, two friends have been struck down in a very serious way with terrible forms of cancer. A girl that Helen has been supporting throughout her treatment and a friend of mine from my golf club, are both very poorly indeed and this made me realise that if I can do more, then I should.
So in a way, I apologise for asking you again. But if you can support The Christie in this way you can be guaranteed that this money will be hard earned and well spent.
In these economically trying times, any contribution at all will be most gratefully received. You can be sure that not only are you helping people like Helen, Sam and Basil, but more importantly, helping The Christie to move us ''towards a future without cancer''
Thank you once again
Chris
Update 09.05.10
Sadly, Sam passed away on Friday night. Helen is distraught. I'm more determined than ever to raise whatever I can.
Update 22.05.10And now Basil is no longer with us. Further motivation.
