It has been a long ambition of mine to run the world famous London Marathon but I have never been lucky enough to get a place through the ballot, despite entering it every year for the last 10 years!

So this year when St Wilfrid's hospice offered me a charity place I was very excited to accept.  I have supported St Wilfrid's before, running two Brighton marathons, so to be given the chance to raise money for this fantastic charity again and tick something off my bucket list was an opportunity I could not pass up.

The care and support the hospice gives to patients in the Eastbourne area is second to none.  My Gran was a patient there before she died and her final days were spent in the hospice being looked after by the wonderful nursing staff, and many of us in this area have stories of friends and loved ones that have benefitted from the service they are only able to offer thanks to kind donations and support from the local community.

Training for the marathon is no easy feat, I will be out in wind, rain, most likely sleet and snow gradually building up the miles so that on the day I will know that I'm in good shape to cross the finish line.

I have pledged to raise at least £2000 but would love to try and raise more, so thank you for visiting my site and any amount you can support me with will be very much appreciated.
