We provide specialist end of life care to patients in our local community

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Plymouth Womens Midnight Walk is being done done in aid of St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth.  Some of my colleagues working in different areas of Derriford Hospital and I have got together to form a team called The Midnight Owls.  We have a choice of doing either 26 miles or 13 miles, some have committed to doing the 26, and some have gone for 13 miles, some like me are undecided and will make a decision on the night!

I know we are in the midst of a financial crisis which is hitting us all hard, however money or the lack of it always becomes less important when the people you love are faced with life threatening illnesses, and the work of place like St Luke's becomes very important.  The Hospice costs more than £5 million each year to run. Government funding is extremely limited so each year at least £3.5m must be raised within the local community.  By doing the Midnight Walk our team is hoping to help St Luke's reach that target this year.  We can only do that with your help, so please give as generously as you can.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
