As living proof that there is no fool like an old fool I have agreed to join a trek ascending to Everest Base Camp at around 18,000ft.
I will be raising funds to support Mary Ann Hospice which provides vital palliative and end of life services within North Warwickshire and beyond.
Mary Ann needs our help to continue to support the many thousands of patients and their carers requiring their care through some of life’s most difficult challenges.
A new and innovative service is The Rapid Response Service. This currently provides care, within one hour of being contacted, to fully support patients and their carers overnight in their own homes in their last 72 hours. The service is expanding to cover both night and day - national charities such as Macmillan will only support funding of services or staff for very limited periods.
However, Mary Ann can only continue the expansion of the Rapid Response Service with additional funding and supporting this local hospice helps to ensure the delivery of this and the other vital services it provides.
All Trekkers will be self-funded therefore all funds raised from the Trek will go direct to patient services, not administration and management costs, so please do dig deep and support the amazing work done by Mary Ann.
