Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2021, Tania went for what she thought would be a routine mammogram. A couple of weeks later the result came through and the conversation went along the lines of
"There's some post for you."
"Oh it's just my mammogram results, give it here, I'd better open it. Oh s**t."
To cut a long story short, she was diagnosed with DCIS and in March last year underwent surgery followed by radiotherapy. She was thankfully given the all-clear in August. We recognise that although the whole process came as a real shock and was massively traumatic she was also incredibly lucky that it was caught so soon - so many others, including close friends of ours, are nothing like as fortunate.
Throughout this, the team in the Breast Unit at QEHB were nothing short of brilliant and this is our way of saying thank you and, hopefully, making life a little easier for those going through the same experience now.
So we're riding from John O'Groats to Lands End in May. We're self-supporting so carrying all our own stuff (and obviously paying all our own bills - all donations go direct to the charity.) It'll take 3 weeks and we know that it will be hard but we just wanted to say the biggest possible thank you and to recognise the great work that they do.
