Story
Hello!
I started this malarkey back in January when I applied for a GNR place through my favourite charity the NSPCC, in an attempt to get fit and change my lifestyle.
Back then I was 15 stone in weight, couldn't bend over to fasten my laces without farting/wheezing/gasping, and I wasn't sure if this was possibly the most ridiculous thing I'd ever attempted.
And then there's Zach, the most important little person in the world to me and someone who's future I see laid out ahead of him like the glittering road to Oz. The world is his oyster and he has every opportunity to lasso the moon.
But he's lucky, and there are thousands of kids out there who will never have his good fortune to be guaranteed shelter and safety, who don't have a voice to protest, and who through abuse, are destined to grow up with emotional problems tied around their necks like anchors. So that's why I'm running for the NSPCC. Because I look at my son every day and I can't stand the thought that there's a two year old somewhere in our developed nation suffering from neglect and abuse.
It's now May and I ran my first 10K last week so I'm on course to do this in a decent time.
I'm also going to be offering a reward for the biggest donation. This'll likely be something along the lines of a visit to set or a walk on part in my next short.
So here's the official skinny:
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
