Story
My father suffered with Parkinson's disease and finally succumbed to complications associated with this disease in February 2012.
Parkinson’s UK have been supporting my family and I felt it was time to help raise some funds by doing something... a little different.
To raise money for Parkinson's UK I can read one of three stories about the Ghosts of Christmas or do a "Trilogy" over three nights. These reading are simple to organise and happy to split money raised with local charities (over £9,000 raised for local charities so far). Read in village halls, churches and community centres; just need a lectern.
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens - abridged by Patrick Stewart and read with his kind permission. The classic story of the ghosts of Christmas. (approx. 90 minutes in total)
Jacob T. Marley by Bill Bennett - abridged by Chris Birch with the authors kind permission. An alternative view of the reclamation of Scrooge seen through the eyes of his dead partner (approx. 120 minutes in total)
Chasing Christmas the original screenplay by Todd Berger adapted into a narrative by Chris Birch with the writer's permission. A modern day comedy as the ghosts of Christmas struggle to cope with a more cynical world. (approx. 110 minutes in total)

I am still looking for venues to host readings this Christmas. Contact chris@codepurple.co.uk or ring 07973 287751 for available dates or more information. |
Otherwise if you wish to donate towards the production then click on the donate button below and more money that will go towards Parkinson's UK.
