Story
Almost 18 months ago, we raised money for a little boy Reuben who had a rare form of Cancer (he’s doing well!). I ran my first 10k, slow and painful, I eventually got over the line! From that day, I caught the bug and as you may know have become pretty obsessed with running.
Last year, I ran my first half marathon raising funds for World Cancer Research Fund (https://www.wcrf-uk.org). It was probably THE most horrible race I have done, broke about half way through, and again, got to the line eventually. We raised lots of money for WCRF and thought what would be better than to double the distance and finish a marathon! Easy, right? :/ WCRF provided a lot of support throughout the whole process of the half marathon and do some amazing research work which makes such a difference to fight this horrible disease.
One of our family members, Russell, (in the picture above) was diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer last year and this is one of the main reasons for me to run and raise funds for WCRF again. He is one of the strongest individuals I have come across given what he’s had to go through and I know that strength will help me complete the London Marathon.
Any donations are hugely appreciated.
