We've done it!

We're jumping off the JR!

On Sunday 23rd May, Chris and Clare are going to raise money for the Oxford Heart Centre by abseiling 100ft from the top of the Women’s Centre at the John Radcliffe hospital.

Why?

A few weeks ago Chris received a flyer about the abseil in the post and thought nothing more of it, but Clare spotted it and in her usual gung-ho! way thought that this would be a great thing to do.  She wasn't keen to do it on her own and was struggling to find some one to do it with her when Chris volunteered (he'd had a few beers at this point, but Clare wasn't going to let him back out).  So now they're both signed up to raise money for this very worthy cause and one that is somewhat close to home.

What's the abseil in aid of?
All the money that we will raise will go towards The Oxford Heart Centre, a centre of excellence for treating more than 20,000 people with heart disease every year. The unit provides state-of-the-art facilities, research and care delivered by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. 

Where will your money go?

- It will help ensure that the wards have state-of-the-art monitoring systems
- It will enable the development of new treatments and provide a conference centre that will facilitate lectures for students anywhere in the world and support international research and training partnerships
- It will help to improve the healing environment with gardens, artwork, a gym and entertainment equipment for adults and children.
