The Railway Children - Three Peaks Challenge by Rail · 25 June 2009 ·

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

Well we made it back in one piece and Snowdon, Scafell and Nevo have been well and truly conquered!! There were tears (not from pain but from Mat's extreme hayfever - he mustered the strength to lead on with a strongwill and an abundance of Kleenex up his nose), whinges (from Welshy, fed up of people lying about how long it would take to reach the summit), sweet melodies courtesy of Nic and his harmonica helping to get us through those darker times and it all ended with a good old fashioned case of trench foot for Cakey and his sweat-enhancing rubber trousers. A few (ahem) celebratory beers were enjoyed on the 13 hour train journey back to London and now the pain is beginning to fade. It was a tough challenge but a great adventure!

As you will see we smashed our fundrasing target and that was all thanks to YOU! Our money will be added to the £160,000 raised by the other Three Peakers and will go a long way in making a huge difference to those children who need it most.

The Choo Choo Climbing Crew cannot thank you enough for your support (both in sponsorship and encouragement) and you never know we may just be back with another challenge some day.....though maybe not :-)

HUGE thanks again,

Adam, Mat, Nic and Yvonne
