Chlo's Skydive for Mind

A Skydive for Mind · 24 March 2018
On the 24th of March I will be throwing myself out of a plane at 10,000ft, 120mph, for Mind; in order to raise awareness and money for better mental health.
When driving me back to university one evening I asked my dad if he'd enjoyed his 50th Birthday party, his response being that he had the best night but if only his best friend was there to enjoy it with him. There was no reason for him not to be. Matt had the biggest heart as well as always being the most fun and outgoing person. Mental Health hits in so many ways and for so many reasons. Mind is helping to offer the much needed support in order to help improve how mental health is tackled.
I've been talking about, how as soon as I was old enough, I'd do a skydive since I was young. That Sunday night everyone left my room at 2am. After thinking over what my dad had said to me all evening, I knew there was no better way to raise money for Mental Health, so I then found myself booking this Skydive (despite being half asleep). I'm not even too sure how I feel about heights, but it was this or a marathon and anyone who knows me will get that running really isn't my thing.
There's a tendency to overlook mental health, but data has provided Mind with the conclusion that shows 'how people cope with mental health problems is getting worse as the number of people who self-harm or have suicidal thoughts is increasing'. Raising money for Mind will help to prove more accessible support for people experiencing the struggle.
