Story
As someone who has had multiple family members suffer from this awful disease I have decided to do the three peaks challenge for Breast Cancer Campaign between 11th-12th July 2015.
I'm 97% off my target. Thankyou all who have donated.
The Three Peaks Challenge is an attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales, 'in one go' in 24 hours including travelling.
I will travel to Fort William on the Friday meet the rest of the fundraising team. (Holidays have now been approved)
Conquer Ben Nevis on the Saturday morning, Race up Scafell pike that night and smash up Snowden on Sunday.
As you can imagine I will be pretty hungry and sleep deprived at the end but it is worth it for a special cause, the main one being my amazing and beautiful Gran.
Not only is this a physical challenge it will also be a mental challenge but lastly a challenge for a worthy course.... that is 'Breast Cancer Campaign'
Just think... 1 in 8 of women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in their life time, (Boys- although rare you can still develop the disease. However it might not affect you directly it could affect your sister, mum, wife, girlfriend or gran.)
50,000 women are diagnosed with Breast cancer and 12,000 die from the disease per year.
What is even worse is UK 5 year Survival rates are behind:
Sweden, Australia, Canada and Norway.
Which in my eyes isn't good enough.
Having boobs I feel I owe it to myself, my gran, my mum, my sister, my cousins, aunties and friends to raise some money for Breast Cancer Now.
The Charity invests heavily in research 'To accelerate progress by bringing together the brightest minds and biggest hearts to drive world class breast cancer research, influence policy and practice, share knowledge and kick start innovation'
