Story
I'm raising money for the King's College Hospital Charity, alongside my boyfriend Edd and his family, in support of their lovely mum, Sian.
Edd's story:
"As most of you probably know last year my mum was diagnosed with cancer. Since then she has been through many different treatments, unfortunately with varied and overall limited success. At the beginning of the year she was accepted as a candidate for a brand new treatment knows as CAR-T. The treatment has been very successful in trials and in the USA with a few side effects, though Mum hasn't been so lucky and has been through an unbelievable fight. She has spent the majority of her time in intensive care. She was in a coma for much of the time, and defied all odds and has recovered from everything that has been thrown her way. We are now looking hopeful to get her back home by the end of August and working back towards her normal life. All of this wouldn't have been possible without the fantastic staff at King's, who have gone above and beyond. They have all been so supportive not only to our mum but also to all the family that visit her every day. So it's time to give back, and so we are taking part in a walk they have organised from King hospital to the Princess Royal University hospital, approximately 18 miles. We would really appreciate anything you can give, and be assured it is going to a fantastic cause."
