As a paediatric critical care transport nurse when given the opportunity to join what can only be described as a fantastic challenge and to support the Childrens Air Ambulance I didn't need to think twice. 

In September 2021 (postponed from June 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic) I will be joining a team 'The Water Warriors' to swim from Dover to Calais. As a relay team of 6 swimmers, we will attempt to  navigate the 22.5 mile crossing of the English Channel;  the famed stretch of water, home to the worlds busiest shipping lanes.

My training in preparation for such a grueling event will not only be strength and fitness but also for my body to cope and acclimatise to swimming in cold water.
