My family, like many others, has a history of heart attacks and similar circulatory diseases.  7 million people in the UK live with one of these diseases and they are responsible for more than a quarter of all deaths in the UK.  It is important that research into these diseases is carried out to help families like mine.  The BHF also provides support and motivation for people recovering from an incident, and advanced awareness of risk factors for these diseases.

By raising money for BHF, we are helping to fund research that gets us closer to cures and treatments for heart attacks and circulatory diseases.

£2 can help researchers to isolate the DNA from a patient's blood sample, in the hope of finding faulty genes causing heart and circulatory diseases.

£6 can help to buy test tubes that researchers use to aid their research into inherited heart conditions.

£16 could support one of our early career scientists to conduct one hour of research.

£22 provides an hour of vital support from a Cardiac Nurse to answer patients' questions.

£25 could help to give a researcher an hour of access to a powerful microscope helping them to see what's going on inside heart and blood vessel cells.
