Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 27th August I found myself in hospital with Type 1 Diabetes. I was shocked and scared and my life suddenly looked very different. I found out that I had to prick my finger and test my blood sugar every time I eat anything and every time I feel funny, (which is a lot). I have to have insulin every time I eat, which is hard because I have always been very scared of needles. I now have a pump, but still have to add up all the carbohydrates of everything I eat and drink and make sure that my sugar levels are good so that I can be healthy.
Even when I was in hospital, though, I decided that I would be ok. I would overcome my needle phobia and make sure that my life would not be ruled by diabetes. I want to do the same things as everyone else and I wont let T1 D stop me. I heard that JDRF were raising money for a cure that might be ready soon and want to help. I will be walking 5K which will be hard on my blood sugars and my mum will come with me, but I want to do this to prove I can and to stop diabetes and help others. Will you help me please?

Thanks Mum (Sarah Parrott) for walking with me and helping me and Dad (Simon Parrott) for being at the finish line and helping me with fundraising in advance and on the day and sharing your experience of managing sugar levels with challenges like this.
