Story
Thank you for visiting my page.
That’s right, in April 2023 I will be running the TCS London Marathon for the British Heart Foundation. This is a charity that is very close to myself, and my family and I am honoured to be representing them this year and raising money.
For those of you that do not know at the start of February 2020 before Covid was about to change everyone’s lives, mine and my families had already been changed with the unexpected passing of my dad who passed away in his sleep from undiagnosed heart disease. At the time I was on a flight to Australia for a trip of a lifetime to celebrate a friend’s wedding and got the news when landing and was back on a flight home 9 hours later.
We had just celebrated his 58th birthday and thought we would have many more years and celebrations together which we have now sadly been robbed of. We are a very close family with Dad at the head and nothing made him prouder than being a grandfather to Archie; the boy he had always wanted, after having three daughters. He was also extremely excited at the thought of being a grandad again to my niece Florence who my sister Jade was pregnant with at the time.
In the UK, one in eight men and one in 14 women die from coronary
heart disease a year, , and Heart and circulatory diseases cause a quarter of
all deaths in the UK, that is more than 160,000 deaths each year this
was something that I was unaware of and shocked me. Thankfully,
the British Heart Foundation is doing amazing work to support this and the people it effects.
Running was a big passion of mine from an early age up until my early twenties and was something my dad used to always encourage and support. So, running the London Marathon for the British heart
foundation means so much, so I am doing all I can to support and would be so grateful if you could show your support with any donations.
Not only am I doing this to raise money for an amazing charity but in honour of the man who I was lucky enough to call Dad.
