Story
Hi I'm Chloe, Subscriptions Secretary at the Racehorse Owners Association in London.
I am so excited to be riding in a charity race in aid of BHEST's Racing to School programme, I have wanted to ride in a race ever since I started working in the industry and so I jumped at the chance to take up the reins around Ascot! Hopefully, it won't take me too long to get fit for the race, I do ride out every weekend for Gold-Cup winning trainer Noel Chance and he doesn't seem to mind too much! He even posed in a photo for this page (above).
As for the fundraising, it costs approximately £1000 to send one class of 30 pupils on a Racing to School day and I want to raise at least enough money to be able to fund two classes of school children to be able to benefit from this amazing educational experience.
Also, if I manage to raise over £2000 then the extra will be split between Racing to School and the British Racing School in Newmarket. Hundreds of young people pass through the BRS's 9-week Foundation Course each year and end up working as the backbone of the racing industry. Many go on to become top jockeys, trainers and senior stable staff in the future. Who knows, a Racing to School pupil may end up becoming a BRS graduate and then the Champion Jockey of 2020!
Without charitable donations neither of these two organisations would be able to continue providing such excellent training to such a large number of young people so please do help me to raise as much money as possible for these two great racing charities.
If you want to chat to me about the race then drop me a line chomer@roa.co.uk or follow me on Twitter @homie_c.
Thank you!!
