Story
CHUF's mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or who develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families. CHUF supports children and families who receive treatment at the Children’s Heart Unit based at the Freeman Hospital and the many other hospitals providing care for cardiac patients throughout the North of England.
EVIES STORY:
Evie was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy at 3 months old in October 2019. There is no cure for this condition, it can only be managed. A lot of children with this condition go on to be transplanted which brings a whole load of other problems.
We are super grateful that Evie is stable, but things can change instantly with this condition as we learnt early in diagnosis where Evie deteriorated so fast in one day and was admitted to Intensive care on Christmas Day 2019. Evie is a happy beautiful little girl and amazes me every day with how smart and clever she is and doesn’t seem to let this condition affect her in everyday life.
This is why I would like to raise money for CHUF as they have supported us in both the good times and the dark times. They do so much (check out their Impact Report to see the level of support they actually provide too) for us and other families as well as the hospital and their staff.
Thank you for supporting over the years too, we have had a lot of generous people. Not just with donations but sharing her story brings awareness to her condition which is very limited.
