BUPA London 10,000 2012 · 27 May 2012 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

On 27th May 2012 I will be running in the Bupa 10,000 to raise money for the Stroke Association.

Almost a year ago my lovely friend Susan Franklin lost her Mum, Pauline, suddenly to a stroke. I'm hoping to raise lots of money so that the Stroke Association can carry on their research into the causes of Stroke, so any money you can spare to sponsor me will be greatly appreciated!

Every year an estimated 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. Stroke has a greater disability impact than any other medical condition. A quarter of a million people are living with long-term disability as a result of stroke in the UK. The Stroke Association funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Life After Stroke Services.
