Story
Over 75% of the world’s population has no access to emergency dentistry. Bridge2Aid is trying to address this shocking situation in East Africa, providing access to dental pain relief for millions of people through its sustainable training programmes. Hope Dental Centre in Mwanza, Tanzania, was set up nine years ago. The surplus from this practice helps fund Bridge2Aid’s work in rural areas.
The existing practice is now in an appalling state, and being in rented property we cannot do anything about it. The building is no longer fit for purpose, and maintenance costs are spiralling. It is also limited by only having two surgeries.
Chipping Manor Dental Practice in Gloucestershire has taken on the responsibility of fundraising for the creation of Hope 2 to replace the existing practice. This entails the conversion of a residential building in the town to a three-surgery practice, demonstrating Best Practice in dental provision, and potentially creating a greater surplus for the charity. The building will also contain accommodation for visiting locum dentists. The conversion work will be managed by Chipping Manor in conjunction with A-dec UK.
Please help Chipping Manor fund this exciting project. Bridge2Aid works in a sustainable way through its training programmes. We want to give the team at Hope a better chance to support this charitable work.
A-dec UK and Chipping Manor have already donated or collected from our suppliers and dental partners much of the dental equipment. We are now raising the £30,000 required to complete the building works and open the new practice.
