UPDATE:

On the 25th August, I sadly lost my beautiful Mum. This walk will now be even more of a challenge. On the day she left us I told her about the walk and she asked me to say hello to her. I love you so much Mum and I really hope I can find the strength to complete this with Alex. ❤️

We are two friends who met through ballet classes (that Jillian's mum Jill also did too!), and have decided to walk the 18 miles with Jill as our inspiration. Jill is 57 and was sadly diagnosed with bowel cancer in July 2020 which has now become metastatic and Rennie Grove Hospice have been a key part of her at home care.

Mum is a huge fitness inspiration & worked in the fitness industry most of her adult working life. She started with gym classes until she founded 'Jill Currie Pilates' & even whilst on chemotherapy she was walking up hills and doing at home workouts attached to her pump. This 18 mile walk will be a challenge but one we will both face with pride and we will hold Mum/Jill in our hearts as we walk.

By offering a 24-hour responsive hospice at home service in combination with other services such as day hospice and family support, we allow our patients to choose how and where they want to be cared for towards the end of life.
