Big Sleep 2016 · 27 February 2016 ·
If you're sat cozy on your sofa reading this, give a thought to those who can't put their boilers on for fear of the bills. Hundreds of old people in Cumbria risk death every year, because they can't afford to use their heating. The Cumbria Community Foundation Winter Warmth Fund provides grants to those who need it most, keeping them safe and warm.
So, on the 30th January 2016, we happy few (Kristel, Kerry, Matt, Tim, Neil, Mike, Amy, Steve, Laura, Sara and Paul) will be braving the elements in our sleeping bags at The Big Sleep on the shores of Lake Windermere. There will be shivers. There will be nervous laughter. There will be bad hats. And if it gets really bad there may even be the odd hug... but only Gilly and Mike will be spooning (for extra cash of course!)
I'm sure we can manage to freeze our arses off for one night in aid of those who need a little help. And I'm sure you can spare a quid or two to boost our spirits and The Winter Warmth Fund. January is a 'tight' month for most of us, but any donations at all will be very much appreciated.
