Story
Each year, hundreds of children and their families are faced with the frightening diagnosis of a brain tumour. Those who survive are often
left with disabilities as a result of intensive treatments. This month alone, over 45 parents in the UK will have heard the words, “Your child has a brain tumour”. Your donation will help our researchers develop safer life-saving treatments for children with cancer. Though we have made great strides in treating childhood brain tumours more research is still urgently needed to help more children to go on to lead healthy, happy lives.
Life Cycle is returning in 2017 to celebrate and support the ground-breaking work of the Children's Brain Tumour Research Centre.
For the past 20 years, researchers and clinicians at the University of Nottingham's Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre (CBTRC) have been at the forefront of leading-edge research. They have worked tirelessly to improve diagnosis, treatment and awareness, saving the lives of thousands of children around the world, as well as here in Nottingham.
I'm completing various fundraising challenges during 2017 to create a brighter future for children with brain tumours – developing effective, targeted treatments that not only save lives, but give those receiving them the best chance to fully recover and live life to the full.
