For the last couple of years our friends at the British Hen Welfare Trust (BHWT) have been busy fundraising to build their first dedicated hen rehoming centre. Incredibly, since the charity was set up in 2005 they have re-homed over 740,000 hens and chickens who would otherwise have gone to slaughter

The Centre is currently being built at their HQ (also known as Hen Central) in Devon and is the first of its kind in the UK.

It will also provide hen keeping courses, educational talks as well as veterinary facilities to diagnose and treat poorly hens and perform life-saving procedures and training.

The BHWT needs YOUR help to finish their bespoke hen hospital!

They still need to raise £5000 to provide essential life-saving kit such as; a specialist examination table and lighting, post op recovery bays that will be suitable for hens, sterilisation and surgical instruments, anaesthetic equipment and a variety of other essential fixtures and fittings such as weighing scales and scrub dispensers.
