Tour De MG UK
On week commencing 20th March, the Cheshire Oaks team will be cycling nearly 1,000 miles to virtually go between all the UK McArthur Glen centres and back in support of Koala Northwest! All proceeds from the event will go directly to the charity to help families in need in the Northwest.
As Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet official 2023 charity partner, we will help champion Koala North West’s mission to deliver both practical and emotional support for children and their families, and improve their wellbeing, reduce feelings of isolation and allow them to thrive within their local communities. Throughout the year, we will be hosting a number of fundraising initiatives to raise donations for the charity, while also offering unique experiences for the families in Koala North West’s care at the centre – from in-centre family events to volunteer work within the local community.
Who are Koala North West?
Koala North West has been providing a range of services for families for 23 years in Wirral, expanding into Ellesmere Port in 2020 and Chester and other areas of Cheshire West in 2022.
Koala North West provides children, aged 0-11 years, and their families with tailored practical and emotional support that improves wellbeing, reduces isolation and supports both children and care-givers to thrive. One of the real strengths of our organisation is the diverse range of services and support programmes we offer to meet the individual needs of children and their families.
We provide a range of services such as home visiting family support, groups and courses for parents, parent infant mental health service, sleep support service, support for children with complex needs, and breastfeeding peer support service all with the aim to support families to meet one or more of the following outcomes:
Improved health and wellbeing (child and parent/carer)
Improved parenting (confidence, positive behaviours)
Improved family management (finances and home conditions)
Improved School Readiness (parents engage with children’s early learning, and children are ready to separate, communicate, listen, socialise, learn, be active and be independent
