Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm doing the Great Scottish Run (10k) on 5 September 2010 in memory of my nana who died on 13 October 2009 after suffering COPD for a number of years. COPD is a chronic* obstructive pulmonary disease - is a general name used
to describe certain conditions where people have difficulty breathing
because of long-term damage to the lungs. COPD is a name frequently
used for a number of different conditions. In the past, these may have
been called chronic obstructive airways disease, chronic obstructive
lung disease, and in some cases incorrectly called chronic asthma.
Everyone with chronic bronchitis and emphysema has COPD, and many
people will have a mixture of both. I would like donate as much as possible as my nana used the Lung Foundation prior to her death as they had provided her with the aids that she required to make her as comfortable as possible at home. It would mean a great deal to me to give this great charity something back, without their support my nana would never have survived so long. I must thank them from he bottom of my heart.
