Story
Personally, I blame the Olympics. One minute you're sitting there with a glass of wine and some nibbles. The next, thousands of fit and toned athletes from all over the world are on your TV for weeks and you start to feel a bit inactive.
I also blame my husband. I say 'I really need to do some more exercise as Jessica Enis is making me feel a bit overweight' and he says 'What you need is something to aim for, why not try a bit of running'. By the time I have taken another sip of my wine (to give me time to come up with an excuse as to why I shouldn't be running) he has booked me a place on the Ashford 10k run and says that I'll thank him for it later.
Well, I still don't feel like thanking him.
Never one to shy away from a challenge I have been forcing myself to start running. It has been a painful process and I have lost count of the amount of times I have returned for a jog round the block and said 'There is no way I can run 10k, I just can't do it' and 'If you refer to it as a bl**dy fun run once more I will kill you'.
Anyway, the date is looming. I will do it (I assume the St Johns Ambulance can deal with me half way round) and it would be good to raise a little bit of money for a worthwhile charity.
Thanks for having a look at my page. I hope you are able to donate something, no matter how small. It is for a really good cause and it has touched the lives of people close to me, and probably you too.
