I have thousands of reasons for raising money for this charity , and that is each and every woman who loses her life to this terrible disease.

As a Nurse of 39 years I have dedicated a lot of my time supporting people with cancer related illnesses, and like each and every one of us I have lost too many  of my close family and friends to cancer.

Over the years I have participated in Race for life events to honour those I have lost, but it’s been a while since I did any fundraising, and that’s partly because I have had some health challenges ( surgery for a benign tumour) and then delays in this event due to Covid.

So I’m doing this to address my health and reduce the risks of me developing cancer in the future, and to honour those I’ve lost to Women’s Cancers most recently, Sue Edwards, a good friend, to Ovarian Cancer Feb 2019, and Kate Mitchell a dear family member in Oct 2020 to Breast Cancer. Both were beautiful inside and outwardly, kind and loving, both taken too soon, and missed by many.

Some of you gave last year and those funds have been paid forwards even though the event did not happen, thank you for your support and please don’t feel obligated to donate again , 🙏 regards Cheryl xx
