Sheffield Half Marathon 2012 · 27 May 2012 ·

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A year ago we were a young happy family with our life ahead of us. Then in July our life's changed forever. My husband Dan was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer. Despite his determination, courage and hunger for life,he lost his fight against cancer just eight weeks after diagnosis.

The team from St Luke's have been there with us every step of the way.Dan was in awe of them and couldn't thank them enough for their help and support. I am still accessing their services for Bereavement counselling - I just don't know what i'd do without it.

Losing Dan has left a gaping hole in our life's and life will never be the same again. I am so proud to be his wife and have our son. Dan is such an inspiration to me and everyone that knew him.

His love for life, having fun and helping others is giving me the strength I need to carry on and make him proud. So i'm running the Sheffield Half Marathon in his memory and to give something back to St Luke's for everything they have done for us.

Donate what you can.....

Thank you.
