Story

Joan Newton or nanny newton as I called her was an inspirational lady always worrying bout others. Caring, kind and selfless. But 5 years ago she suffered a stroke and life as she New it changed her memory stated to fail her when in late 2016 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s she became frail quite quickly and in 2017 December she deteriorated very quickly being put in to a home. After being cared for by my mum and grandad for years. She was in there for a week and in that time she no longer recognized us. She had a fall in January 2018 while in the home and sadly passed away on 14th Jan 2018.

My family have lost such a inspirational person. And in her memory I’m doing this walk to hopefully help others. The person with the illness and there families.
