Fundraising for Anthony Nolan
Right at the beginning of this global pandemic, just when it looks like it couldn't get any worse, our lovely friend Laura shares some devastating news... her brother Tom has leukemia. It has been a truly horrific and scary experience for the whole Coote family, and extra horrible because the UK has been in lockdown.
The only thing we could do was send Laura cake and wait for updates about Tom's progress, crossing our fingers for good news. Tom is currently bravely fighting and Laura is keeping us updated with her googling and extra long scientific words that she loves so much!!
As restrictions eased, we heard about 'Walking Together' for Anthony Nolan, the blood cancer charity. This is a sponsored walk that you can do at any time in September, over any distance, and we are looking forward to all being together again to do it.
Never one to take things lightly, we have decided to do 20 miles of the Cotswold Way, finishing at the golf club on Cleeve Hill. We will be doing this on Saturday 5th September 2020 and really hope that you can donate anything you can to help.
For someone with blood cancer, a stem cell transplant could be their last chance of survival. Today, five people will start their search for a stranger to save their life. Anthony Nolan is the charity that makes lifesaving connections between people with blood cancer and incredible strangers ready to donate their stem cells. It costs £40 to add each new potential donor to the Anthony Nolan stem cell register. Every new person on the register means another chance for someone to find their lifesaving match. By donating to our page, you will be giving more people with blood cancer the chance of a future. Thank you. Without you, there is no cure.
Thanks so much,
Lozz, Liv, Pip, Mimi, Leah, Daisy and Cat + 2/3 of a human (Cat will be 6 months pregnant at the time of the walk!)
