Story

Well I’ve finally decided to do the GNR after years of saying I would. I am going to be running this run for the memory of my grandad who unfortunately passed away due to Huntingtons disease, and also because my mam has inherited this disease it has affected my family day in day out and we are overcoming obstacles we didn’t think we would face.

Huntingtons disease is a rare, inherited disease which can be passed down through family members and could someday effect myself and my sister. This disease causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, it also has a wide impact on a persons functional abilities and usually results in movement, speech and psychiatric disorder.

Would be great to raise a little bit of money and awareness for this charity that so many know little about, it does not have much funding and they are yet to find a cure. I would love to one day know that they have finally been able to stop this disease in its tracks.

Thankyou for reading my story.
