Over July and August 2023 I will be walking 200miles to help my best friend Lauren raise money for her volunteer trip with Dentaid to Malawi in 2024.

There is a desperate need for dental care in Malawi – a country with fewer than 50 dentists for a population of 19 million people. Although Dentaid is working with Glasgow University’s dental school to supply equipment for a new dental training school in the capital Lilongwe that will train a new generation of dentists, many people in rural areas are suffering due to a lack of access to dental care. 

Lauren will be working with local dental partners to run outreach clinics in schools, orphanages, prisons, slum areas and community buildings. Dentaid provide safe, free dental treatment for some of the poorest and most remote communities in the world.
