Story
I am delighted to announce that I have been accepted onto the Santander 2017 International Challenge. In October, along with 40 colleagues across Santander, I will be working to build a school for the disadvantaged Moser community in Nepal.
Nepal is currently the poorest country in South Asia and ranks the twelfth poorest in the world. At present, 1 in 5 children do not have the opportunity to gain an education and cannot enrol in a primary school, due to the lack of provision.
My motivation for completing this challenge, is my belief that every child should wake up each day with a feeling of hope. A feeling that they have something to work towards; goals and ambitions. A feeling that they can work to improve their own lives. But, most importantly, a real reason to smile and to be happy, each and every day.
The building tasks I will be completing are digging foundations, mixing cement, laying blocks and fitting doors and windows to create a place of education, opportunities and a venue to bring the local community together. I am extremely excited to be part of a team that will create a lasting legacy and will make a real difference to those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Santander will match all fundraising, so I am hoping to raise at least £4000.00 for an extremely worthy cause. 100% of the funds raised are donated to charity, as myself and Santander are paying for all accommodation, flights and visa costs.
Any donations, pennies or pounds, will be greatly appreciated to help an extremely worthy cause.Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
