Event postponed… new date 9th Jan 2022!!!
In 2015 me and my family were very very lucky to be one of 25 families selected to be granted a holiday to Florida by this incredible charity. Something we would have never dreamed of due to the health of my brother. However there was a team of paramedics with us the entire journey helping to put us at ease. Not only paramedics, we had a huge team of volunteers that came along with us too. They helped us with everything we needed and made the holiday the best it could be for me and my family. They took care of my brother so that me and my sister could spend some time with my Mum and Dad. It picked us up after a few difficult years. It gave my parents the break they so deserved after constantly battling for 4 years. We met some amazing families on our holiday and learned more about the amazing work that this charity has done for so many more families across the UK.
Right now the charity is working with families who have a child with Autism to provide an assessment along with 12 months post-diagnostic support. They are providing a child with a sensory kit or vital equipment as so many families unfortunately don’t have the funds to get the equipment that their child needs. They are helping families to overcome financial difficulties as well as so much more.since 2000 they have helped over 50,000 families.
When in Florida with Caudwell I personally was amazed with the work of the volunteers and the charity it self and I told myself that one day I would come back to Florida and repay the charity by being a volunteer myself. I wanted to be apart of helping other families as I personally knew how much it means. However, unfortunately this trip isn’t running anymore due to covid 19 and lack of funds. Although it saddens me that some families aren’t going to be able to experience this trip of a lifetime I didn’t want this to stop me from giving back to this charity. Therefore, I have decided to do a skydive on the 21st November 2021. As one of my Cheerleading teams, York St John Kats, chosen charities this year the money will be going to our fundraising target as well. This is probably the scariest but most exciting thing I’ve ever done and I would massively appreciate any donations!!
100% of the money raised will be going to Caudwell Children to help them change the future for all disabled children providing access to the services, equipment, therapies and treatments they need. The money will also help Caudwell to increase awareness and understanding of the needs of disabled children across the UK whilst enabling a disabled child to lead an active and independent life reaching their full potential.
Most importantly this money will help them to enable disabled children to have an ordinary life and I would be extremely grateful for any donations!!
