Story
Mental Health is so important to me as an individual. I was diagnosed with Anxiety at just 15 years old. I have battled with mental health throughout my adult life and unfortunately suffered a Mental Health Crisis in 2018. I was very unwell for quite some time and on sick leave for four months. During that time, Bradfords were amazingly supportive as a workplace but also the individuals that helped me and offered support. I was provided with counselling organised by Bradfords and this helped me on my journey back to health and returning to work along with medication which I will most likely be taking for the rest of my life. As a family, we take mental health very seriously and are always trying to talk about our feelings and thoughts and this is something we teach our children too. It's so amazing to see larger companies and workforces supporting Mental Health Awareness more openly and hopefully one day people will be able to speak freely and get the support they need. Thank you for reading my story and please donate what you can!
At Bradfords we're going to support our partner charity, Mental Health UK, and the wider UK 2021 Mental Health Awareness week (11-16 May 2021) through a massive 10,000 mile challenge getting ourselves outdoors to cover miles across our region to raise money! Its up to you, walk, bike, run, swim, paddle we want as many people as possible to contribute the target and help us try to raise £10,000 in the process. Getting out into nature The theme for MHAW 2021 is Nature. The health benefits of the great outdoors are well known, and this year MHAW is all about reconnecting with nature. What better way to do this than get out for some exercise and head for either the places that you already love, or indeed having an adventure to find something new.
