Story
Hello there,
I will be running the London Marathon 2023 supporting the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) and seek your support to help raise funds and awareness for the research.
There’s a significant effort underway for cancer treatment; the other way is to prevent it from occurring. WCRF is funding international collaborations that investigate how to reduce cancer risk.

Why this charity?
I started running when my dad was diagnosed with liver cancer. The times were hard as no one in my entire family had been diagnosed with cancer ever before. Running was my safe space, a vent to breathe, relax and not think about my dad and his survival. I signed up for a marathon to inspire him to stay positive; I ran to overcome my weakness to cover a distance while he focused on staying positive through his treatment. I finished my first Philly Marathon in Nov of
2021. During this period, as I researched on liver cancer, I learned a lot about how much research is ongoing on Cancer treatment and how far we have come. Unfortunately, the cancer metastasized for my dad, the treatments did not work, and I lost my dad in Jan of 2022. He wanted to live, dance at his grandchildren's weddings, and see them
grow. He had plans to visit countries, grow mango trees in the backyard, and train kids for the army. After his death, in his memory, I planned to continue to run one marathon race every year. Now as I run, I want to make my runs impactful and chose a cause closer to my heart to help eradicate cancer. Through continued research and development, we will be able to find a world beyond cancer. The raising is in the memory of my family and all those who still had hope in their eyes.
