Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As Charlie's transplant sports uk just giving page https://www.justgiving.com/charliehaslam/ is doing so amazingly well I'd also like to share some of the donation with Nottingham charity hospitals as there work is also just as essential in helping towards the promotion of organ donation and helping the Nottingham team get to Newcastle to enable fundraising and more awareness. So if anyone else would like to donate it's greatly appreciated and I will total up Charlies amount between the two causes and let everyone know the total amount charlie has managed to raise towards the promotion of organ donation, any amount no matter how small is really appreciated and will help so much. Big thank you to all who have donated so far its amazing :) some of Charlie's story.....
Charlie was diagnosed with chronic renal failure at the age of 2 and a half, he was in intensive care for a week and then on high dependency to continue stabilising his bloods.... Charlie then spent 6-8 weeks at home on numerous medications trying to stabilise his bloods which sadly didn't work and so ended up on home peritoneal dialysis, which he continued on for 2 years, then went on to haemo for 6 months, then back on to PD which all in the meantime meant several operations to enable us to do this to keep him alive.... After over 3 years of dialysis we were lucky enough to receive the call which changed his life, they had found a donor for which we are so grateful for the kidney that was donated by a family whom at the time were having to deal with grief but also selflessly thought of others at that difficult time, this is why organ donation promotion is extremely important to us and we would like to help transplant sport and Nottingham univerity hospitals charity to continue to raise awareness on how important organ donation is around the world! It really does change lives.... Charlie can now eat chocolate and swim he's a happy 10 year old so please no matter how small a donation every little helps and thank you all so much lets beat last years total of £168 :) we are going to Newcastle on the 30th of July 2015 for 4 nights lets do this :)
