Hello World!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Have you picked yourself up yet and stopped laughing ........ at the thought of me doing anything remotely relating to fitness?!

UPDATE!!!! I DID IT!! :)  WOO HOO! It took 4 hours and 5 minutes (but if you take away queuing for the toilet the actual walk was 3 hours 30 minutes!) and no blisters! What an amazing experience.  I can't believe it's all over and more to the point, I'm so grateful for all your wishes and support. I hit my fundraising target, thanks to my many supportive family and friends. Thank you so much. Please feel free to continue donating!!! Apparently I can collect until September!! :)  

I am doing the Starlight Walk to raise money for the Peace Hospice  -  13 miles - yes you read right 13! - around Watford (oooh exciting!) to give something back to them for all the care and support they freely and willingly give to so many.

The Peace Hospice holds a dear place in my heart. As I'm sure most of you are aware I lost my fabulous Mum to cancer in June 2006, just over 5 weeks after diagnosis. As my Mum was completely healthy up to this point it came as a real shock and for some months I don't think it really hit me. When it did, it was a very difficult time and I was recommended to contact the Peace Hospice Grief Counselling Service. My 'lady' has been an amazing support. She is a legend, managing to listen to me for 50 minutes week after week, helping me work out the next step forward. 

Luckily we were able to care for my Mum at home during those last days and weeks, however  some cancer suffers are not so lucky.  The Peace Hospice offers a friendly and relaxed environment for both patients and their families and when that dreaded day does come, they offer support to the ones who are grieving. What an amazing service, all run through charitable donations. 

If you are reading this it's because I'm asking for your support in this. It'll be the thought of all your support that will keep me putting one foot in front of the other at 4am on 14th June!    I've set my sights high and would love to raise £500.
