Story
On 4th October I am running the Virtual London Marathon, the official 40th race, for Fight for Sight. When I applied for the charity place in December 2020, funnily enough, this journey was not what I expected.
I always said I would run a marathon once and once only and it would be London. For obvious reasons, that can't happen this year but I want to mark all my training and give thanks for all the generous donations and support I have had this year, by running 26.2 miles around my home town of Bournemouth.
As a Specialist Optometrist, Fight for Sight is a charity close to my heart, they fund vital pioneering research into sight threatening conditions. 1 in 5 of us will experience some form of sight loss in our lifetime, it could be you or your loved one who benefit from the results of this research. Fight for Sight did not qualify for the governments charity support package during the pandemic, they need our support now, more than ever.
Thank you to everyone who has donated.
