Story
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. A team of 15 of us (Jez Robinson, Chris Smith, Sam Goss, Toby Brett, Josh Sutcliffe, Russell Bristow, Danny Bristow, Rory Markham, Alex Toms, Rob Ireland, Christoph Ostermann, Frazer Bristow, Chris Geere, Jim Clark and Marc Dudley) are taking on the south coast ultra challenge to raise valuable funds for St Christopher's and in memory of Charlotte Smith (Robinson). 100km across the south downs over a weekend, what could go wrong...!
This is our team fundraising page, to help tell our story (Jez), has written the below.
For those who don't know it, St Christopher's hospice is a really special place, with amazing staff who offer fantastic care for patients and families. I (Jez) saw first hand as they were so kind and supportive to my sister Charlotte who sadly lost her brave battle with Breast Cancer in April 2017 aged just 37. They were also incredibly kind in after care to my brother in law Chris Smith and my family especially my Mum and Dad. If I am honest the concept of a hospice scared me before I visited Charlotte at St Christopher's, the staff were incredible in caring and supporting - for which we will be always be grateful.
Those lucky enough to meet Charlotte will know she lived life to the full and crammed so much into her 37 years. Charlotte was incredibly thoughtful and forward thinking to the end, she asked me (well told me!) to continue to raise awareness of Breast Cancer and raise money for St Christopher on her behalf. There has been some walking and cycling challenges in the past, but this is our toughest challenge yet! We now find ourselves embarking on this 100km challenge, which I imagine will come with very little training - so wish us all luck.
St Christopher's Hospice is a charity which provides the highest standards of support and end of life care free of charge. They are more than just a hospice. They are proud of their community programmes that offers practical, emotional and spiritual support to over 7,500 people, across 5 boroughs of London. As well as providing education and training to 31 other countries. Despite the recent challenges, their amazing nurses have been working harder than ever to provide the very best care, which is only made possible by the generous support of people like you kindly donating to their work.
Thanks for visiting our team page and we greatly appreciate any sponsorship towards our target,
Thanks,
Charlotte's Sole Mates
