I DID IT! I managed to run a whole 26.2 miles, and in a time I never dreamed I'd be able to achieve - 3 hours 36 minutes and 45 seconds! Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored me and all the encouraging little messages.

It has all been very worthwhile - I've managed to raise a few pounds for a great charity and shed a few pounds before my wedding dress fitting. How satisfactory! It would be even more satisfying if I could hit my target of £1000 (and miraculously shed another few pounds overnight!), so any more donations will be happily received.

As you know my chosen charity was Hope for Children because less than 3p of every pound is spent on administration and you can see what you get for your money: £10 can feed a child for a month, £20 provides equipment for a playgroup, £30 buys school books and clothing and £80 will enable a new limb to be fitted for a child maimed by a landmine.

If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. The cost of my entry fee is included in the money I raise, but as you'll see I've sponsored myself to cover that.
