Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Following the success of my participation in last year's Royal Parks Half Marathon, where we raised over £4,000 to help fund a medical mission for Gesom Hospital in Goma, Congo, I will be running the ASICS Stockholm Marathon on Saturday 28th May to raise money to provide grants to rape orphans for their school fees. The money that you donated last year ensured that up to 30 victims of rape received medical treatment. Thank you for your generosity and support, as we could not have achieved this without you.
This year we have partnered with a second grassroots organisation called the Centre Kitumaini in Bukavu, Congo, who are doing some amazing work to help victims of sexual violence with very little in the way of resources and aid. Amongst the victims that they help are orphans who's Mothers were raped. They neither have a Mother or Father and were born as a result of rape attacks on their Mothers. The centre currently provides educational grants to rape orphans and would like to extend its support to more orphans born from rape, in order to provide them with the best start in life and to avoid them being marginalised in their communities and society because they are rape orphans.
It costs £91 a year (that's £7.60 a month) to sponsor one child's education. With your help, The TG Foundation would like to raise £4,550 to help 50 children receive grants for their school fees this September. I appreciate your support for helping us to reach this target by sponsoring me to run this marathon! So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks a million - Charlotte
