Story
Yes, that’s right, the Princess of Purple, Little Miss: ‘I can’t, I might break a nail’, is embarking on the ultimate challenge: trekking in Peru in aid of the Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity and in memory of her special friend Georgina Robinson.
From the 14th to 23rd September 2007 I am going to trek across Peru to Machu Picchu. OK, don’t laugh, but I will be walking all day, camping in the Peruvian countryside at night, eating ‘local cuisine’, wearing unattractive clothes and footwear, foregoing make-up and my beloved gin and tonics and most likely getting a lot of blisters! And as if that wasn’t enough to endure, in the mean time I’ve got to train a body designed more for Victorian high society (and the odd swoon) to be strong enough to traverse tough terrain for up to nine hours a day - and we all know that sometimes I have trouble just opening my car door!
So lets face it, its worth sponsoring me just to deprive me of make-up for ten whole days, but on top of that, through my chosen charity, you will be ensuring that numerous families of terminally ill children will be given invaluable support, and you will be helping me make a fitting tribute to my friend Georgie.
If I learn one thing from Georgie, it should be to get out there and embrace life, so please help me take this chance and make a lasting difference to my own and the lives of others – I promise to come back a better person!
Thank you so much in advance for all your support,
Charlotte
